The 2025 County Health Rankings, released on March 19 by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute (UWPHI) and Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) are available at www.countyhealthrankings.org.
To support state and local health improvement efforts, Clarkson Regional Health Services has produced individual county profiles that include data and the “drivers,” or measures with the greatest impact, on the health grouping of each county.
For over a decade, the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute has measured conditions that influence how well and how long we live — from access to affordable housing, to jobs that pay a living wage and opportunities for a good education. This year, in a new model of health, they look at how power and societal rules create conditions that impact everyone’s health and the ways we can take action to change them.
How Do Nebraska Counties Fare for Population Health and Well-being?
The green map shows Nebraska’s Population Health & Well-being by county. Population Health & Well-being tells us how long people live on average within a community, and how much physical and mental health people experience in a community.
Find detailed information on the measures and their associated weights here. You can also learn about the methodology for this year’s release here.
How Do Nebraska Counties Fare for Community Conditions?
The blue map shows Nebraska’s Community Conditions group by county. Safe housing, jobs that pay a living wage, and well-resourced schools are among the conditions that make up a healthy community. Our new model describes how society’s rules – both written and unwritten – create community conditions. “Community Conditions” sharpens the concept of Health Factors to better reveal how the conditions needed for healthy communities do not occur by chance.
